Changes for 2003
2003 SCHEDULE: This year we have added another morning/morning
tournament or two. This was done because of the popularity of those
tournaments. Hopefully it will increase our catch also.
CLEARWATER: A few changes were made to the
2003 schedule. Clearwater is back as the first “T”. It will be a one day
“T” in March. It will be the “memorial” tournament dedicated to past Hawg
Hawlers who are no longer with us. We could not contact Piedmont Park
Marina, so the take-off / weigh-in location will be the campground ramp.
WAPPAPELLO: The Wappapello take-off / weigh-in location will again be
Peoples Creek. The Wapp “T” has been moved back to August so we can get a 2
night reservation at Barretts, but we will not be holding the tournament
there.
TABLE ROCK LAKE: New to the schedule this year is Table Rock Lake. We
will have our “T” out of Schooner Creek Resort. When you make your
reservations, tell them you are a Hawg Hawler and get a 10% discount on your
room.
2003 T-Rules (and membership form) are here.
Please read over the rules, complete the information on the membership form
at the end, and send in your 2003 membership early. Please note the new
treasurer address (be nice to Teddy, it’s his first time).
LATE ENTRY PENALTY:
$10.00 late fee, Last take off position both days,
NOT eligible for attendance prizes.
SHORT FISH PENALTY: The short fish penalty has changed. For 2003 the
penalty for a short fish will be 2 pounds AND 2 POINTS this year.
WEIGH-IN: The weigh in procedures will remain the same for the most
part. The officers will weigh-in 15 minutes prior to the end of the “T”
(everyone is welcome to attend). Fish will be weighed on a first come –
first served order until the official end of the “T”, then it will go in
boat number order.
|
FEES: Membership fees, boat entry fees and payouts all stay the same
for 2003. There is one change to the Payout though.
Payouts will be based on the number of boats signed up by Wednesday prior to
the tournament. Any late entries and their late fees will be retained in the
treasury, and used for the Awards Banquet at the end of the year.
FREE MEMBERSHIP: The officers have decided to extend the FREE HH
membership to include those anglers age 65 and over. Basically, if you
require a fishing license, then you pay to join our club. If MO says you are
exempt from a fishing license, then you can be a HH member for FREE. Please
understand that you still have to send in your membership form. It’s just
that the dues are FREE.
DEER SEASON: In an effort to accommodate deer hunters and maybe have
something special at the Awards Banquet, the last HH “T” is scheduled for
Oct 4/5.
BBQ: This year the officers will organize a BBQ at the Flame Resort
on Lake of the Ozarks (April 26th). The BBQ will be held before the
tournament on Saturday.
CHILI SUPPER: The officers will offer a Chili Supper at Osage Bluff
Lodge on Truman Lake at September tournament. The Chili Supper will be held
on Saturday evening.
NEWSLETTER FORMAT: In the past, many email recipients mentioned that
they did not have MS Excel, so this year we will try to create or copy files
into a MS Word format for the newsletter. This goes for the Points Sheet as
well. Hopefully this will allow more members to receive the newsletter by
email.
NEWSLETTER (Snail Mail): It’s a known fact that many members do not
read the newsletter. There is nothing wrong with that, but it costs the club
quite a bit of money to copy and mail the newsletter. In an effort to reduce
our costs, and subsequently increase the funds available for the
Awards Banquet, it was decided that this year the
newsletter will be mailed by request only. If you want to receive the news
by snail mail please
email and let us know.
NEWSLETTER (E-Mail): If anyone wants to receive the newsletter by
E-Mail, please send an email with “HH News Via Email” in the subject line,
to
Secretary@HawgHawlers.com.
