Who caught SIX keepers off of ONE tree? (ok, he caught 5 and his partner caught 1, but his partners fish was caught on Friday)

Tournament Results:
Here are the facts… It was beautiful for our “T” at Truman. Weather was cool, light wind, lightly stained water…. and STILL the fish didn’t bite (for most). The top two spots in the tournament were captured by our top 4 anglers in the AofY race. Bob Ray and Rob Cook took top honors with 4 fish. Bob’s 4.69lber took Big Bass for the w/e. I know where they were fishing, but I’m sworn to secrecy. I have been authorized to print that Bob and Rob logged 190 miles on the GPS for the w/e. Dave Sona and Neil Volkmann also weighed in 4 fish, and reserved 2nd place for themselves. Third place was taken by Joe Glass and Josh Zelnis, and their 3 fish.

New Scale:
The club broke in a new scale at Truman. So far the scale seems to be working out pretty well. It has a remote readout (handheld), and is accurate to .01lb. There is a complete revamp in store over the winter.

New Owner:
Long Shoal Marina has a new owner. Don Eckers purchased Long Shoal last year, and has made some noticeable improvements already. Don welcomed the Hawg Hawlers, but asked that we conduct our future weigh-in’s on the grassy “knoll” behind the marina. We promptly complied, and held our Sunday weigh-in over there. Don has more plans in store to make Long Shoal even better than it is already.

Catfish! Catfish! Catfish!
Two anglers in a Nitro came in after our weigh-in on Saturday and started fishing behind the fish cleaning station at Long Shoal Marina. We didn’t think much of them, until they caught their 3rd 10lb catfish. Then they caught another, then another, then another, and so on. All total, we think they pulled about 10 of these 10lbers out of this whole. That’s gonna be some g-o-o-d eatin’.

Treechopper is BW.
The fillet’d toe belongs to GH.
The brakeless trailer belongs to TS.
The “calf” belongs to the “leg” of TO.
And the 6 keepers (really only 5) belong to BR. (It should be noted that one of his 5 keepers came on Friday, and it was a 5.5lber, which was bigger than his Big Bass for the w’e)

Next Tournament:
The next Hawg Hawler “T” will be at Wappapello Lake. Remember this is a NO MINIMUM SIZE LIMIT lake, and this year (because we will be in September), culling WILL BE allowed. Duh, do you think the top group of anglers will be there. Uhh, yeah! We will be holding the “T” at Barretts Resort this year. Please be considerate of other slip owners, and do not block any slips or the gas dock. There is plenty of room to beach your boat. If anyone needs to launch, and is NOT staying at Barretts, Redman creek ramp is right across the cove. See you all there.
