Comments:
-
TR - Fin &
Feather, Wapp - Barretts
-
KY Lake, Long
Branch, Need better points system.
-
Suggest $10/BB
pot for “mod” night “T”
-
Night “T” ok for
fun, but not for points.
-
Have night “T”
in July or August.
-
Only fish 8 T’s,
skip August. Fish Wapp in Sept. Flame too expensive.
-
Officers go a
good job.
-
2nd
“T” at same lake, should be a night “T”.
-
Fish OZ 3 times,
middle one a summer-night “T”.
-
At Wapp, take
off as normal, but weigh in at Sundowner or Barretts. This would
allow boats to be tied up. Individual “T” seems susceptible to fish
sharing.
-
Glad to see same
“top notch” officers again.
-
Like BBQ and
Chili Supper. This is a great way to survey.
-
Fish 10, but
only count 9, or fish 9 and count 8. Don’t like Flame.
-
Clearwater is
too small. Fri/night “T” in July on OZ (Gravois). Have OZ spring
in Gravois.
Officer Analysis:
There
were 47 members who submitted valid survey responses. The officers
were looking for the total votes cast for each lake and each resort.
We looked at the number of unsolicited write-in votes that were cast.
These are comments/votes that were chosen from ALL potential
lakes/resorts in Missouri. We also looked at the 2003 tournament
attendance at given lakes and resorts. After much discussion, we came
up with the following observations….
Table Rock
Lake
-
Lowest “lake”
vote total in 2003 survey (19 votes – 41%)
-
Lowest “resort”
vote total in 2003 survey (18 votes – 38%)
-
3rd
lowest attendance in 2003 (27 boats)
Pomme
De Terre Lake (May)
-
2nd
lowest “lake” vote total in 2003 survey (22 votes – 47%)
-
2nd
lowest “resort” vote total in 2003 survey (20 votes – 43%)
-
Lowest
attendance in 2003 (21 boats)
Osage
Bluff Resort – Truman Lake
-
2nd
lowest “resort” vote total in 2003 survey (20 votes – 43%)
-
4th
most popular
LAKE
on survey (28 votes – 60%)
-
2nd
lowest attendance in 2003 (22 boats)
Because
of the above survey results and statistics, the officers have decided
to make the following changes to the 2004 tournament schedule….
-
Replace Table
Rock Lake with Bull Shoals (tie for most popular write-in).
-
Replace Pomme
(May) with Mark Twain (tie for most popular write-in lake).
-
Move Truman from
Osage Bluff to Long Shoal (most popular write-in resort).
-
Because of
scheduling issues, we are going to switch the Aug and Sept
tournaments in 2004. This means that we will go to Truman (Long
Shoal) in Aug, and Wappapello (TBD) in Sept.
-
There will be NO
Night “points” Tournament.
-
There will be NO
“Individual” Tournament.
-
The Modified
Night Tournament was voted down. But because it doesn’t affect the
Angler of the Year competition, the officers have decided to go
ahead with a Modified Night Tournament (you never know…it may catch
on).
The 2004
proposed tournament schedule is available on the “schedule”
page, or attached to this email.. Please realize that this is only a
preliminary schedule. It will not be finalized until we receive the
necessary permits and paperwork from the Department of Conservation
and Water Patrol. The schedule should be finalized by mid/late
January. It is recommended that no one make any reservations until
the schedule is finalized.
If anyone wants
the complete listing of all survey votes cast, and comments submitted
(with names or email addresses omitted), please send an email, or mail
request, to
Secretary@HawgHawlers.com.

From
the Prez’s Boat:
I want to thank
everyone who took time to complete the lake survey. With your input we
have come up with a schedule I think you will like. You will notice
some rearrangement of officers for 2004. One officer decided to
withdraw and enjoy fishing this year, and I respect that decision. We
will have our spring BBQ in April, and our Chili Supper in Sept,
again. I am looking very forward to March, and seeing everyone
again.
Thanks again,
Gary
