Big Winners
Sometimes you know it’s going to be a good weekend fishing when you catch 5
fish in the first hour on the first bait you throw. This is how the weekend
went for Teddy Reim. I’ve heard that Mr. Reim (Gene that is) was the best
with a spinnerbait in his hands, and he obviously taught Teddy well, because
he was a man on a mission this weekend. The winning team of Rob Cook and
Teddy Reim had a whopping 24.16 lbs. Most of which came from Teddy. It also
was 9th on the All Time Heavy Stringer list. I never got a chance to meet
Mr. Reim but I could tell you he was in that boat with us this weekend,
helping us out all the way. Teddy also had big bass Sunday with a 4.89 lber.
We were throwing black and gold spinnerbaits. Wasn’t my first choice, but
when you see your partner catch 5 fish, you’d tie one on too, if I only had
one with me. These guys took home $270 for first and $96 for big bass. I’m
sure someone up above would be proud and is smiling. Good Job Teddy.
Second place was the very old OOPS I mean wise team of Terry Stanek and Bob
Treadway. This weekend was Terry’s birthday and he should be happy with the
nice fish he caught, at 6.76 lb. Which got big bass for the weekend and the
$120 side pot, and was 9th on the All Time Big Bass list. They were throwing
small green worms. Together they had 5 fish for a total of 14.77 lbs. They
took home $198 for second and $96 for Saturday’s big bass from the club.
Good job, wise men.
Third place goes to Chuck Elders and Jamie Griffth. They were throwing about
everything at these fish. Chuck said he used crankbaits, worms, jigs, you
name it. They had a total of 4 fish with a 5.61 lb kicker for a total weight
of 12.40 lbs. For third place, they took home $122. Good job guys.
The other placing positions were as follows: 4th Russ Grobe (11.18lbs) $86,
5th Andy and Greg Shands (9.26lbs) $64, 6th Greg Heinz/Dan Durbin (6.90lbs)
$54, 7th Mike and David Jankowski (6.87lbs) $50.
Next tournament is at State Park Marina on Pomme De Terre Lake May 14-15.
We are also looking for Tournament directors. If you are interested, please
contact Dave.

We had some great gifts to give away this tournament. Schooner Creek Resort
stepped up and gave away a full weekend stay for two, in addition to the
free night stay for Saturdays at the tournament. This went to Gregg Shands.
Congratulations. We also gave away a free weekend to Runaway II Resort. Ken
Jones Tackle also gave away free reel cleaning service.

Who’s New?
Welcome new and past returning members. Paul Berger, Mark Smith, Bob Thome,
David Thome, Jamie Griffth. Fun
Stuff
While fuel prices were high, boaters were given an opportunity to really
save money on the lake this weekend. IF YOU HAD A SAIL on your boat you
never burned an ounce of gas! Saturday winds above 20mph called for the
renaming of this reservoir to Table Rock Sea. Hawg Hawlers seemed to hang in
there though. In those rough waters one can never be too prepared. Just ask
one member of the Shands team. Those new fangled auto inflate life vests are
apparently sensitive to wind. Pooof! It’s almost like a whiplash collar only
bigger and yellow. Some good news, Missouri waters did NOT claim another rod
and reel from one member. Two hands and hang on is his new motto. We’re
always looking for a fun story at tourneys so let us know about “Lake
Out-Takes” and we’ll post what we can.
Special Thanks To:
Schooner Creek Resort for having us. Hope to see you guys again next year.
