Big Winners
Well, there were extremely tough fishing conditions, and no one was able to
establish any kind of fishing pattern. Nonetheless, Scott Hasty and Jason
Kennedy fought their way thru a bout of food poisoning and breaking the
trolling motor, and being stopped by water patrol for a boat search. They
still won their first tournament. These guys have been in the club for a few
years now and are working there way up. Scott said they were catching a lot
of short fish, so he slowed down and worked the area over with Senko’s and
crankbaits. Well it worked and they found 3 nice fish for a total weight of
6.73lbs. Scott had big bass Sunday, 2.47lbs, which was also a first for him.
For their efforts, they took home $250 for first place and $88 for big bass.
Scott and Jason are sponsored by (Jolene and Karen) their wives back home.
Allegedly, Jason’s wife taught him how to catch fish at the last tournament,
and I guess it paid off. Good job guys.
Second place was Pam Wakim and her dad Frank Stanek. They had two fish for a
total of 6.19lbs. They were throwing chartreuse crankbaits. This weekend was
Frank’s 81st birthday. Happy birthday Frank, and congratulations on a good
job fishing. Pam also had big bass for the weekend with a 4.02lber. For
their efforts, they took home $184 for their second place and $88 for big
bass from the club. In addition to $110 from the side pot. Good Job.
Third place goes to Mike and Dannie DeArmon these guys had three fish for a
total of 5.90lbs. They were also throwing senko’s. Mike almost got big bass
with his big fish weighting in at 2.30lbs. They took home $116 for third.
Good Job.
The other placing positions were as follows: 4th Steve Williams/Brian
Schumacher (5.70lbs) $82, 5th Richard Herling/Todd Akins (3.59lbs) $60, 6th
Chris Bergmann/Teddy Reim (3.32lbs) $50,
Next tournament is at Cedar Haven Resort on Pomme, August 13-14.
