Chili Cookoff
Another chili cookoff, another huge success. I wonder if the October tourney
attraction is the great fishing or the annual chili cookoff. A round of
applause is in order for the group responsible. We really appreciate the
hard work that went into planning this event. A big Hawg Hawler cheer for
Dottie Reynolds, Cathy McGarity, Craig Gravatte, Lyla Durrer Charlie Beach
and Kathy Hencken for helping with the chili and helping in general. Let’s
not forget the leader of this pack, Lori Luzynski. She was the person who
put it all together .
From The
Presidents Boat
By Greg Heinz
I would like to use my “Prez Boat” space to give a few well deserved thanks.
First to the 2006 officers, who did a great job this year. Pam dug and
prodded and got us many of the prizes that have been given away, and more
that will be given away at the dinner. Dan did an excellent job on the
newsletter and statistics, and was a great partner for the year. Lori kept
everything balanced, as usual. Terry and Craig kept the weigh-ins running
smooth. In addition, I would like to thank Charlie and Bob for their
continuing support of the club and its officers.
I would also like to thank the volunteers for the 2007 officer positions.
Pam’s organizational abilities will guide them through 2007. I wish them
continued success in leading the club into the future. Remember, we are a
club of members, and everyone contributes. ALL past officers are at your
disposal, if you need us.
Lastly, I would like to thank each and every 2006 member who joined and/or
fished with us this year. Without you, there is no club. With you, there is
a continuously growing group of anglers, who have discovered that there
really is a thing called “friendly competition”.
To sum up, we had a few bumps in the road, but the 18th year of the Hawg
Hawlers was a great success. We set a new record for attendance. We had
plenty of competition that went down to the very last weigh-in. And we have
NEW people taking home the Angler of the Year and Big Bass of the Year
trophies. It has been a pleasure to work with this group of officers and
members, and serve as your president for 2006. I’m looking forward to 2007.
Thank you.
