What a great
weekend to be fishing, with cool mornings and daytime temperatures in the
mid 80’s, it was a good time to be out on the lake. The fish must have
thought it was a good weekend too. 19 boats brought 167 fish to the scales
for a total weight of 158.43 pounds, nearly a pound per fish average. Only 2
anglers, Bryran Walker and Scott Hasty had a double limit, but the quality
of the fish made up for it. Several bass over 2lbs came to the scales.
Fourth place went to Garret Rhodes and Tim
Dring. Fifth Place went to Jim Evers, fishing by himself.
Congratulations to all the winners.

From
Cuz's Boat
By Greg Shands
Brian Walker proved this weekend that it
doesn’t take a big, fancy boat to catch fish, as he brought in a limit both
days. However, one should consider the size of the boat to the size of your
partners. To make matters worse, Brian’s partner failed to catch his limit
on Sunday and it was reported that as they left the parking lot to go home,
Russ was riding in the boat. Don’t worry, Russ, I’m sure there’s plenty of
people in this club who would be willing to let you ride up front in the
truck for a chance to fish with you.
Two old faces were back with us this weekend. First was Teddy Rein and he
fished with Dave Sona. Things didn’t go quite as planned on Saturday as the
pair only weighed in two fish a piece. Dave later reported that the problem
was that he couldn’t concentrate on fishing, because all Teddy could do was
talk about how hungry he was. Sunday morning, Dave said he made sure Teddy
had a full belly before the start of the tournament. Apparently this helped,
as the pair had a better day. For all people that fish with Teddy Reim,
remember, feed him!
Next up was
the famous Rob Cook. Rob seemed to be tongue tied this weekend, but as the
numbers show: different partner, same results – Zero Fish. At one point I
saw Scott and Rob out on the lake, both standing on the front deck of the
boat without so much as a sign of a fishing pole in hand, just grins from
ear to ear. When I stopped to ask what was going on, Cookie said that Scott
had his limit and they were done.
Rob, the idea
is for you to fish with your partner. That’s why it’s called a buddy
tournament.
